Welcome to Zach Sweets!

How I First Got into Zombies in the First Place?
I'm trying to remember what made me fall in love with zombies. I know aliens got my attention first then zombies were next. I looked through IMDB (Internet Movie Database) and finally remembered which movie got me. It was The Evil Dead.  I remember how terrified I was while watching it when I was a little kid. I remembered how often I had a nightmare from that movie even though it was supposed to be a mix of comedy and horror.  Still, it scared me. Alien didn't scare me and I actually laughed at it. I remember I was at between 5 and 7 years old and that was the moment when I fell in love with horror movies. Most movies didn’t scare me until I watched The Evil Dead.
Naturally, people would stay away from things that scare them off but I couldn't stay away. I ended up watching all of The Evil Dead sequels (Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness) After seeing those sequels, I had to find more zombie movies. I've seen Pet Cemetery (this one really crept me out, when little boy came back to “life” and went on a killing spree.), Ghosts of Mars (I remember how weird this movie is but plan to re-watch it), 28 Days Later… & 28 Weeks Later… (28 days & weeks were my most favorite zombie movies), Resident Evil & Sequels (My all time favorite movies), and you can view the rest of the zombie movie list at wiki. There were some more but I can't list them all. I still have tons of classics to catch up. I get to see many types of zombies from all of the films I have already watched and I can imagine them inside my head. Ever since, I've become obsessed with zombies. Those movies help me to figure out how I would describe the zombies' characteristics in Zombie Rain.
A quick snippet of how I describe the zombies in Zombie Rain:
Uncertainly, I told Mrs. Jones to stay put, then I went toward the people screaming for help, dodging the people that were roaring. I gasped when I realized they had that sickly pallor, just like Thomas, and when I looked closer, I noticed there was some kind of black ooze dripping from their mouths. What the hell was that? Their teeth looked purple, and they all had wounds of some kind. They just looked scary. Was it bacteria that made them that way? I saw then that there were kids out there, too. My fatherly instincts kicked in; I had to try to save the kids.
As I rushed toward them, I saw that they had black liquid oozing from their mouths, and when they screamed, the viscous goo splattered everywhere. I skidded to a halt. I was so afraid it'd be contagious, all I could do was run away. Cowardly or not, it was all I was capable of doing.
The black ooze, I remembered seeing them in some movies. It was a common trait for a zombie. While writing about them, I love zombies even more. The idea how scary they can be excites me. It still made me think hard and starting to scare myself because I let my imagination go out of control. I start imaging if they actually exist and the zombies in my book were exactly what I pictured them. Now, the movies did get me into zombies, but it wasn't just movies that did it. The books got me into it, too.  Autumn by David Moody was a fantastic original zombie book and his book was the REAL reason why I decided to write my own version of zombie book. I've read several zombie books and there are plenty of them to read as well.
In the end, zombies will always be my favorite horror supernatural creatures over anything. There are countless of reason why they turned into a flesh-eater and that gave us an opportunity to think up several ideas how to describe them.
Lastly, I'd love to give one free copy of Zombie Rain to a winner.

A disease that turns them into flesh-craving monsters. The combination of tragedy and horror is almost more than Jake can take, but then he meets Rex, a man who has been struggling through the horror in search of more survivors. The two men travel together, searching for answers and other survivors, the growing bond between them the only bright light in their dark world.
But then that light is taken brutally away, and Jake is left struggling to find it again, fighting against insurmountable odds and growing despair ...
About Me:
Zach, an army brat, was born in El Paso, TX, and has lived in North Carolina, Germany, Kansas, California, and the District of Columbia, before graduating from University of Baltimore in May 2010, with a degree in Applied Information Technology. He now resides in Arizona, where he moved to start a new adventure with his partner and dog.

Zach writes as often as he can and likes to push himself with writing challenges. Joining the M/M Romance group on Goodreads.com has immensely boosted his motivation to become a successful Deaf author, writing about man to man love, with some horror thrown in for good measure.
When he is not writing or reading, Zach likes to practice his web design and development skills. He loves to hang out with the love of his life as often as he can, finding things to do inside and outside the house, whether it be yard work, hiking, bike riding, walking their dog, eating out at a cozy diner, or just loving.
You can find Zach at his website, share books with Zach on Goodreads, follow Zach on Twitter, or friend Zach on Facebook.
